Dr. Christopher Bernido is recognized for his research in theoretical and mathematical physics. His work began on magnetic fields and quantum mechanics. Later, he worked on modelling for biological components, finding applications on helical biopolymers, neuron membrane, chiral polypeptides, neurodynamics, protein folding and protein conformations. Dr. Bernido and his wife Dr. Ma. Victoria Bernido are also credited for purposeful commitment to both science and nation through an innovative, low-cost, and effective basic education design via the Central Visayan Institute Foundation Dynamic Learning Program (DLP).
